Having taken a reasonable number of flights in the previous year, I found myself a few tier points short of the next status on British Airways. A quick scan of the BA site and the cheapest day return flight was to Edinburgh, which gave me the points I needed, so I flew up there, for lunch.
Now, whilst there it would have been silly not to have a look around, so I settled on heading for the castle. It was wet, and very windy, but walking up the steep hill to the castle I saw these steps, and thought they had some potential, so took a few shots with my iPhone and carried on up the hill.
I tried a few different looks when developing the image, but settled on this black and white version, it seems to suit the mood of the weather on the day – changeable, but brightening up.
I shall definitely be heading back to Edinburgh, it was such a nice place, and the surrounding countryside looks to be stunning as well.
